Looking for Fleming’s vegetarian options? You can build a full dinner from salads, sides and a few starters, but Fleming’s offers no vegetable entrée at dinner. Lunch adds a mushroom and tomato pasta that works, once your restaurant serves lunch. I read both menus and Fleming’s July 2026 allergen chart row by row, so every item below traces to a source. Not sure where to start with eating out? Here’s what about the vegetarians in general.

A Quick Look at Fleming’s
Paul Fleming and Bill Allen founded Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in 1998. The first restaurant opened in Newport Beach, California (Wikipedia). Bloomin’ Brands, based in Tampa, Florida, owns the chain today. It also owns Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s and Bonefish Grill.
Fleming’s is small and pricey, and vegetarian options at Fleming’s depend on that size. Bloomin’ Brands’ 2025 annual report (10-K) counts 66 company-owned Fleming’s restaurants in 25 states on December 28, 2025, with an average check of $110 per person. Technomic ranks the chain number 127 on its 2026 Top 500, with $396 million in 2025 U.S. sales.
One caution before you plan a dinner. I pulled the menu and prices from the Riverside, California restaurant page. Fleming’s changes its menus by location and tags several items as regional on its allergen chart.
Fleming’s Vegetarian Options: What to Order

Here’s every item I could sort into Fleming’s vegetarian options and the ones to skip. A ✅ means Fleming’s describes the item with no meat, fish or poultry. Fleming’s doesn’t publish a vegetarian list, so I’m working from its item descriptions and allergen chart. Where those leave a question, I marked the row ⚠️.

Starters, Soups and Salads
Fleming’s Salad ($19) is the safest bet here. It comes with candied walnuts, dried cranberries, red onion, campari tomato and a lemon balsamic vinaigrette. Fleming’s marks milk, tree nuts and wheat on it in the allergen chart, and no fish or eggs.
The two soups need a question. Mushroom Brie Soup ($18) comes with button mushroom chips and truffle oil. Fleming’s bakes French Onion Soup ($20) with Grand Cru alpine cheese and parmesan over sourdough croutons. Fleming’s doesn’t name the broth in either one. Classic French onion soup starts with beef stock, so ask your server what the kitchen uses before you order it.
Skip the rest of the salads and starters. The Chopped Wedge carries bacon, the Caesar carries crispy prosciutto and a fish mark on the chart, and the Burrata comes with prosciutto. The crab cakes, calamari, tuna, carpaccio and shellfish tower are seafood or beef.
Sides: Where Dinner Comes From
The steakhouse side list is your vegetarian dinner, and it holds the best Fleming’s vegetarian options. Every dinner side costs $19 to $21 at the Riverside restaurant. Pair three of them with a salad and you have a real meal: Fleming’s Salad ($19), mashed potatoes ($19), roasted asparagus ($21) and chipotle cheddar mac and cheese ($20). That’s $79 before drinks.
- Mashed Potatoes list butter, kosher salt and cracked black pepper.
- Fleming’s Potatoes are potatoes au gratin with a creamy cheddar and monterey jack blend, leeks and jalapeño.
- Chipotle Cheddar Mac and Cheese uses smoked cheddar and chipotle panko breadcrumbs.
- Sweet Corn Brûlée is a sweet corn custard with a golden brown sugar crust. It reads like a dessert and eats like a rich side.
- Roasted Asparagus comes with herb butter.
- Thai Green Beans come with gochugaru flakes, red onion and Thai sesame oil. Fleming’s marks sesame, soybean and wheat on them, and no milk, eggs, fish or shellfish.
Two sides need a skip or a question. The Crispy Pancetta Brussels Sprouts carry pancetta. The Roasted Vegetables (zucchini, yellow squash, red bell pepper and red onion) list demi glace. Traditional demi glace starts with meat stock, Fleming’s doesn’t say what’s in its version, and the dish isn’t on the allergen chart.
You can also add the Roasted Garlic Mushroom Medley ($22), a steak topping of shiitake, portobello and button mushrooms. Fleming’s marks milk on it, so it’s vegetarian and not vegan. The Signature Onion Rings ($20) use panko and a smoked jalapeño aioli. Fleming’s marks eggs, milk and wheat on them, and no fish or shellfish.
Lunch Is the Easier Meal
Fleming’s vegetarian options get easier at lunch, because that’s when Fleming’s serves its one vegetarian entrée. Mushroom and Tomato Ragout Pasta ($23) uses cavatappi, burrata, campari tomato and torn basil, at 1,030 calories. Fleming’s marks milk and wheat on it. Some restaurants serve a regional pappardelle version, and Fleming’s marks eggs on that one too.
Parmesan Truffle Fries ($9) arrive with tarragon aioli, and Fleming’s marks eggs and milk on them. Freshly Baked Milkbread ($9) comes warm with a lavender honey spread. Fleming’s marks eggs, milk and wheat on it, and the honey rules it out for vegans. Lunch also brings back the roasted asparagus, the mac and cheese and the mushroom brie soup at $13 to $14 each. One catch on timing. The Riverside lunch page says lunch starts November 9 and runs Monday through Friday from 11 a.m., so call your restaurant before you plan on it.
Avoid the Grilled Chicken Burrata Sandwich, the Wagyu Dog, the Steakhouse Filet Chopped Salad and the Lobster and Shrimp Louie Salad. Fleming’s allergen chart also includes a Truffle Grilled Cheese with Creamy Tomato Soup at lunch. I didn’t find it on the Riverside lunch page, so ask whether your restaurant serves it and what goes into the soup.
Desserts
Dessert is the broadest part of Fleming’s vegetarian options, because most of the list works for vegetarians. Fleming’s lists New York Cheesecake, Crème Brûlée, Carrot Cake, a Chocolate Gooey Brownie with honeycomb brittle and a Chocolate Lava Cake with Belgian chocolate. Fleming’s marks eggs and milk on all five, and tree nuts on the lava cake. Fresh Fruit and Blood Orange Sorbet carries none of the nine allergens Fleming’s tracks.
Two desserts have no chart row at all: Caramel Apple Bread Pudding and the Tuxedo Sundae. Fleming’s charts a Build Your Own Ice Cream Sundae, but that’s a different item. Without a row, you can’t rule those two in or out, so ask your server. For kids, Fleming’s offers a Fresh Fruit Bowl of strawberries, blueberries and pineapple, and an Ice Cream Sundae. Skip the kids’ mac and cheese, though. Fleming’s tops it with crisp bacon, unlike the chipotle cheddar side.
What’s Vegan at Fleming’s?
Almost nothing, and Fleming’s doesn’t publish a vegan list. Two items come closest. The Thai Green Beans carry no milk, egg, fish or shellfish on the chart, and the Fresh Fruit and Blood Orange Sorbet carries none of the nine allergens. Neither one carries a vegan label, and Fleming’s doesn’t track honey or other animal ingredients on its chart. The sorbet and the green beans are your best starting points, but confirm each with your server. The dinner butter, the cheese, the cream soups and every dessert on the main menu use milk or eggs.
Special Dietary Requirements and Allergies
Fleming’s tracks nine allergens on its chart: eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soybean, tree nuts and wheat. Fleming’s doesn’t track meat, gelatin or cheese rennet there, so you can’t use the chart alone to confirm that an item is vegetarian. That gap covers the cheesecake, the brûlée and every cheese dish. Fleming’s links the July 2026 edition from its nutrition page.
Fleming’s also warns about cross-contact. In its gluten note, Fleming’s says its kitchens prepare dishes to order and that individual foods may come into contact in shared cooking and preparation areas. Fleming’s doesn’t say which oils or fryers it uses, so ask about that if it matters to you. Fish is the other catch. Fleming’s marks fish and eggs on the Crispy Pancetta Brussels Sprouts and fish on the Caesar, so don’t assume a salad or a side is clean without checking its row.
Tips for Vegetarians at Fleming’s
- Order a meal of sides. Fleming’s Salad and three sides cost $79 at the Riverside restaurant, and they fill a plate better than any single starter.
- Choose lunch when you can. It’s the only time Fleming’s serves a vegetarian entrée, and Riverside doesn’t start lunch until November 9.
- Ask what broth goes into the Mushroom Brie Soup, the French Onion Soup and the demi glace on the Roasted Vegetables.
- Say you’re vegetarian when you order. The bacon, pancetta and prosciutto all sit in dishes that look vegetarian on a quick read.
- Ask for the allergen chart at the table. Fleming’s links the current edition on its nutrition page.
- Check whether your restaurant serves a regional item. Fleming’s marks several dishes as regional, and those can differ from the main menu.
- Book a table for a special occasion and tell Fleming’s about your diet when you reserve.

Conclusion
Fleming’s doesn’t center its menu on vegetables, but you can still eat well there. The best Fleming’s vegetarian options are the sides and the lunch pasta. Order the salad and a few sides at dinner, or the ragout pasta at lunch, and ask about the soup broths.
