A Quick Look at Topgolf

According to Wikipedia, twin brothers Steve and Dave Jolliffe built the first Topgolf in Watford, England, and opened it in 2000. Richard Grogan and three partners started the U.S. licensee, Topgolf International, and opened the first U.S. venue in Alexandria, Virginia, in 2005. Topgolf International bought Topgolf UK in 2009. The company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

Callaway Golf announced a deal to buy Topgolf in October 2020. Then Callaway sold a 60% stake to private equity funds managed by Leonard Green & Partners, a sale it closed on January 1, 2026. Restaurant Business’s Top 500 ranking, built on Technomic data, puts Topgolf at No. 114 and lists 96 U.S. units for 2024. Every venue pairs hitting bays with a full kitchen and bar, and Topgolf writes its menu like a sports bar’s.

Your venue’s food menu may differ. Topgolf says menu selections are subject to availability and may vary by venue, so check the menu for your location before you go.

Topgolf Vegetarian Options: What to Order

On its May 2026 national menu, Topgolf puts a V next to vegetarian items and VE next to vegan items. Its website FAQ adds two vegetarian items the menu leaves unmarked, the Topgolf Donut Holes-In-One and the Cookie Crumble Sundae. The FAQ also names a Cheese Flatbread, which isn’t on the May 2026 menu. That menu has a Cheese Roman crust pizza marked V instead, so ask your server which one your venue serves. In the table below, a vegan check means Topgolf marks the item VE.

Starters and Shareables

Topgolf does its best vegetarian work in the starters. It marks five of them V.

Cheesy Macaroni Bites and Warm Pretzel Bites

For the Cheesy Macaroni Bites, the kitchen fries creamy mac and cheese until it’s crisp and serves it with ranch and a creamy tomato sauce. It tops the Warm Pretzel Bites with kosher salt and adds cheese sauce and honey mustard. Topgolf marks both V, and you can eat either one between swings.

Queso Blanco and Chips, Fiesta Nachos, and the Mediterranean Trio

Topgolf marks the Queso Blanco and Chips V and GF, and you can add guacamole to make it a trio. On the Fiesta Nachos, the kitchen piles tortilla chips with roasted sweet corn, queso, pico de gallo, jalapeño, lime crema and avocado crema. Topgolf marks those V and GF too. Skip the chicken and steak add-ons.

At 850 calories, the Mediterranean Trio is the lightest of the V-marked starters. You get tzatziki, baba ghanoush, roasted red pepper hummus, celery, carrots, cucumber, red peppers and grilled flatbread.

One shareable to skip

Pass on the Buffalo Chicken Dip, which Topgolf doesn’t mark V. The Funday Faves Platter and the Fairway Feast are out too. Topgolf builds the first around fried chicken sliders and the second around smash burger sliders and wings.

Pizza, Flatbreads, and Burgers

Topgolf bakes its Roman crust pizzas as rectangular pies on a crust it calls light and airy, yet crispy. It marks the Cheese pizza V. The Hot Honey Pepperoni and Buffalo Chicken pizzas carry meat. You can ask for a cauliflower crust for $2, and Topgolf marks it GF.

Order the Farmhouse Flatbread if you want the best vegetarian main. Topgolf marks it V and GF and builds it on a cauliflower crust with mushrooms, tomatoes, red onion, arugula and a creamy garlic vinaigrette.

On any burger, Topgolf lets you sub a black bean veggie patty, which it marks V. The All-American Burger is the simplest swap, since Topgolf tops it with lettuce, tomato, onion, American cheese and its own secret sauce. On the Smokehouse Burger, ask your server to leave off the bacon that comes with the BBQ sauce and cheddar. Topgolf doesn’t publish what goes in the secret sauce, so ask if you avoid egg.

Sides, Salads, Desserts, and Kids Meals

Both French Fries and Tater Tots get the V. You pick fries or tots with every handheld, or pay $1 more for a side salad or fruit. Fruit is the only item Topgolf marks VE. You can get the side salad as House, which Topgolf marks V, or Caesar, which it doesn’t.

Topgolf puts grilled marinated chicken on both entrée salads, the Chopped Chicken Caesar and the Cobb, and adds bacon to the Cobb. Neither works for vegetarians as written. Topgolf says its kitchens can modify additional items to be vegetarian on request, so ask whether yours will build one without the meat.

For dessert, Topgolf’s website lists the Topgolf Donut Holes-In-One and the Cookie Crumble Sundae as vegetarian. Topgolf dusts the donut holes with cinnamon sugar, and you choose two injectable flavors from chocolate, raspberry jelly and Bavarian cream. The sundae is vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. The S’mores Cookie Skillet isn’t on the website’s list, so ask before you order it.

Kids get one vegetarian entrée, the Grilled Cheese, which Topgolf marks V. Your child picks carrot sticks, grapes, French fries or tater tots on the side.

What’s Vegan at Topgolf?

Topgolf says it has vegan items and items its kitchens can make vegan, but on the national menu it marks only one item VE, the Fruit side. With no published vegan list to check, you’ll need to ask your server at the venue.

Start with items whose descriptions don’t list cheese: the Farmhouse Flatbread, French Fries, Tater Tots and the House Salad. Ask whether the kitchen can make each one vegan, and which dressing or dip you can add. Topgolf doesn’t mark any of these VE, so get a yes from your server first.

Special Dietary Requirements and Allergies

Topgolf stores products that contain allergens and gluten in its kitchen. The company says there may be a chance of cross-contact, so it can’t guarantee these products for guests with a food allergy or celiac disease. It asks you to tell your server before you order if anyone in your party has an allergy.

Topgolf also warns that some items may contain imported crawfish or shrimp, and it prints a raw and undercooked food notice. Nowhere does it say which items share a fryer, so ask if that matters to you.

On the egg question, the website says Topgolf’s goal is 100% cage-free whole-shell eggs for all locations by the end of 2026. That’s a goal, not a finished switch. If you avoid rennet or egg, ask your server about the dressings, the cheese sauce and the burger sauce. Topgolf publishes no ingredient list for any of them.

Tips for Vegetarians at Topgolf

  • Look for the V on the menu. Topgolf puts a V next to vegetarian items and VE next to vegan items.
  • Build a meal from shareables. Order the Fiesta Nachos, the Mediterranean Trio and the Cheesy Macaroni Bites for the table.
  • Order the Farmhouse Flatbread if you want one plate that’s yours alone.
  • Swap in the black bean veggie patty on a burger, and ask your server to hold the bacon on the Smokehouse.
  • Skip the brunch plates. Topgolf puts bacon and breakfast sausage in both the Scramble and the Breakfast Burrito.
  • Check your own venue’s menu online first. Selections vary by venue.
  • Tell your server about any allergy before you order, since Topgolf stores allergens and gluten in its kitchens.

Topgolf Vegetarian Options FAQ

Conclusion

Topgolf makes it easy to eat vegetarian once you know to look for the V. The Farmhouse Flatbread, the Fiesta Nachos, the Mediterranean Trio and the black bean burger swap give you full meals, and the fries, tots and cheesy bites fill out the rest. Vegans get a much thinner list and need to ask at the venue.
