UNiQ Burger: What’s Vegetarian Editorial Review

UNiQ Burger is a 100% plant-based burger stand in Scottsdale, tucked into a shopping center off East McDowell Road. Look for suite 108-B. The building holds several other storefronts, so the address alone can be easy to miss. Nothing on the menu contains meat, dairy, or eggs. You don’t have to ask what’s safe. If it’s listed, order it.

Start with the namesake UNiQ Burger. A plant-based patty sits under melted vegan American cheese, dressed with a special sauce reviewers keep comparing to a Big Mac’s, minus the beef. Want more heat? Try the Spicy Korean Burger, built on kimchi, gochujang mayo, and sriracha aioli. Craving something sweeter? The Paradise Burger stacks vegan cheese, banana peppers, teriyaki sauce, grilled onions, and a ring of grilled pineapple. Three crispy chick’n sandwiches round out the main list. Add loaded fries in flavors like Cajun, wraps, house sauces, and a short dessert menu. Small on purpose. A handful of things, done well, beats a page of options that dilutes the kitchen’s focus.

The kitchen setup isn’t complicated. Everything here is vegan, so there’s no shared grill, no cross-contamination question, no fryer split between plant patties and something else. Every burner in the building cooks the same way. More than one review mentions staff checking in on the table more than once during a sit-down meal, so this isn’t a grab-and-go counter in practice. That’s rare. It’s the real reason to drive here instead of ordering the one veggie option at a regular burger chain.

Reviewers call the food “a tad pricey but you can tell it’s quality.” One diner’s burger, fries, and dipping sauce ran about $25. That’s closer to casual sit-down pricing than a fast-food combo. Phoenix New Times named it Best Vegan Burger in its 2025 Best of Phoenix issue. Yelp lists it among the top 100 vegan restaurants in the country. None of that is a coincidence. Scottsdale voted it best vegan spot three years running, 2023 through 2025. A place doesn’t rack up that streak by accident. It figured out how to make plant food taste like the thing it’s replacing, not a compromise version of it.

Local business listings place it in the Old Town Scottsdale area. Close enough to add before or after something else nearby, without making it the whole night’s plan.

Hours run Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Closed Monday and Tuesday, so don’t plan a weekday-start trip without checking first. Ordering happens online through the restaurant’s own site, which makes takeout simple if you’d rather eat at home. Delivery runs through DoorDash and Grubhub too, if a drive to Scottsdale isn’t in the cards. No reservation system turned up in a search, so call ahead if you want to check on a wait before driving over.

Go for the burger you’d order anywhere else, minus the animal products. You’ll walk out fed and a little surprised at how close it gets. Skip the guilt about ordering a burger on a vegetarian trip. Here, it’s just the menu.
