Less Vegetarian-Friendly

Bonchon works for vegetarians if you stick to the tofu bibimbap, vegetable potstickers, or the cheese-filled Mopo Corn Dog, since almost everything else on the menu is built around fried chicken.

Bonchon: What’s Vegetarian Editorial Review

Bonchon is a Korean fried chicken chain first, so vegetarian options take real digging here. A handful of dishes genuinely work, but you won’t find them without checking the chain’s own allergen chart instead of guessing from the menu descriptions.

What to order at Bonchon

The Bibimbap made with tofu is the closest thing to a full vegetarian meal on the menu, though it comes with a fried egg by default, so ask for it without. Vegetable Potstickers and the Mopo Corn Dog, a cheese-filled item with no meat in it, are both solid picks. Sides like Edamame, Steamed Rice, Pickled Radish, and plain French Fries are vegan as served, and Plain House Fried Rice works too if you skip the egg.

What to watch out for

Don’t assume a dish is meatless just because it sounds like a side. Japchae comes with beef bulgogi by default, and Tteokbokki contains fish cake, so both are off the table. Kimchi is worth asking about too, since traditional recipes sometimes use fish sauce. The Vegetable Potstickers and Udon Noodle Soup both carry a shared-fryer or unpublished-broth caveat, so treat them as a check rather than a guarantee. With the chicken itself being the main draw here, expect most of the menu, wings, drumsticks, and strips alike, to be off-limits no matter which sauce flavor you pick.
