The Habit Burger Grill: What’s Vegetarian Editorial Review

The Habit Burger Grill is built around char-grilled beef, but vegetarians have more to work with than that suggests. The house Veggie Burger runs on a vegan patty, and the Portabella Char gives you a heartier, grilled option. Add sides like fries and sweet potato fries, and you can build a full meal without touching meat, even if nothing on the menu carries an official vegetarian label.

What to order at The Habit Burger Grill

Order the Veggie Burger without cheese for a fully vegan build, it comes on a toasted wheat bun with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, and sweet mustard dressing. Add cheese and it’s vegetarian only. The Portabella Char is a char-grilled mushroom burger that contains dairy and egg, so it works for vegetarians but not vegans. French fries, sweet potato fries, and Tempura Green Beans round out the sides, and the Garden Ranch Salad without cheese is vegan if you pick the Sweet Mustard dressing.

What to watch out for

The Habit dropped the Impossible Burger in 2025, so the vegan veggie patty is now the only meatless burger on the menu. Fries and green beans cook in a shared fryer with meat products, and the Portabella Char cooks on the same grill as the beef, so cross-contact is possible on both. The Sweet Mustard dressing is the only one the chain currently labels vegan, every other dressing is off-limits if you’re strict about it.
