Sizzler: What’s Vegetarian Editorial Review
Sizzler doesn’t build a vegetarian entree, so skip the steak menu entirely and head for the Buffet Court. That salad and hot bar, included with most meals, is the real reason this steakhouse chain works for vegetarians at all. It’s more substantial than a quick glance at the steakhouse sign suggests, and most locations let you order it on its own without buying a full dinner.
What to order at Sizzler
Start with the Build-Your-Own Salad Bar, skipping bacon bits, egg, and cheese if you want it vegan, then ask which dressings are dairy-free. A plain Baked Potato is vegan as served once you skip the butter, sour cream, and cheese. Round things out with the Vegetable Medley, Mac N Cheese, or Cheese Toast, and finish with soft-serve or another dessert from the Buffet Court.
What to watch out for
The French Fries and Onion Rings may share a fryer with breaded items, so ask if that matters to you. The Taco Bar looks tempting, but Sizzler doesn’t publish its bean seasoning, so check before you build a plate there. Every soup and chowder on the menu runs on meat stock or dairy, and the steak, seafood, and chicken entrees are obviously off the table. With only about 74 U.S. locations concentrated in six Western states plus Puerto Rico, confirm one is near you before you go.
