Godfather’s Pizza: What’s Vegetarian Editorial Review

Godfather’s Pizza runs on a heavy pepperoni-and-sausage reputation, so the vegetarian side takes a little digging. It’s there, though: a real vegetarian pizza on the standard menu, a build-your-own option with vegan crusts and sauces, and a salad you can make vegan in one step. The chain franchises more than 580 restaurants plus over 1,600 licensed express locations, so this menu holds up wherever you find one.

What to order at Godfather’s Pizza

The Veggie Pie (onions, green peppers, black olives, tomatoes, mushrooms, mozzarella) works if you eat dairy. If you don’t, build your own on the Original, Golden, or Thin crust with Marinara, Original, or Oil & Garlic sauce, all vegan, piled with vegetable toppings and no cheese. The Garden Salad ordered without cheese is vegan too, and Potato Wedges and Mac ‘n’ Cheese with no bacon round out a vegetarian meal. Monkey Bread and Churro Bites are worth a look for dessert, though check on the icing and butter first.

What to watch out for

Cheddar, mozzarella, cream cheese, and Parmesan & Romano are all marked as a check rather than a confirmed yes, since Godfather’s hasn’t published its rennet source. The Alfredo, Pesto, Taco, and Ranch sauces all carry dairy or egg, so stick to the vegan sauces if you’re avoiding those. Wings, and every pepperoni, sausage, beef, ham, or bacon topping, are obviously off the menu, and the Breadsticks and Garlic Bread need a check since the garlic butter isn’t confirmed.
