Edmond’s Burgers & More: What’s Vegetarian Editorial Review

Edmond’s Burgers & More is a family-run burger counter in Plano with one menu item vegetarians can order without asking for substitutions: the Veggie Burger. It’s $10.49, topped with provolone, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pickles, and house sauce, built on the same bun as the beef burgers, not tucked away as an afterthought. Two more real options round out the lineup. The Greek Salad ($8.99) comes with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, olives, and feta, big enough to work as a full meal without adding the optional protein. Avocado Toast ($8.99), made with feta, red onions, and tomatoes on sprouted organic bread, is a lighter pick that shows up often in reviews as a lunch favorite. Add a fried egg for $1.50 if you eat eggs, or ask for the gluten-free bun swap on the veggie burger for $3 more.

Edmond Lamce and his wife Aida opened the restaurant in October 2022. They took over the space after JC’s Burger House closed at Independence Parkway and 15th Street. The couple moved to Plano from Albania in 2014. Edmond has cooked professionally for close to 30 years. Their goal, by their own account, is recreating a home-cooked family meal, not running a health-food kitchen. Nothing here carries a vegetarian or vegan label, not on the printed menu, not on Grubhub or Seamless. The veggie patty almost certainly cooks on the same flat-top as the beef, turkey, and chicken patties. The fryer that handles fries and onion rings also fries chicken tenders, wings, and fish. Cross-contact a dealbreaker? Call ahead and ask how they keep the veggie patty separate. Don’t assume a dedicated station exists.

This is still a burger restaurant first. Eleven burger variations, a Reuben, a Philly cheesesteak, gyro wraps, chicken wings, and fish and chips fill out most of the menu. Gluten-free buns run $3 extra if you need both accommodations. Entrees mostly land between $8 and $12. A weekday lunch special gets you a burger, fries, and a drink for $9.99 until 2:30 p.m., which puts the whole place at $$. Service is counter-style. Walk up, order at the register, grab a table. No reservations needed or accepted. Reviews run strong. Yelp shows a 5.0 average across more than 400 ratings as of mid-2026, and one reviewer called it one of the best burgers they’ve ever had. Several others mention long waits at peak lunch and dinner, since every patty is hand-pressed to order rather than pre-formed and frozen. A short dessert case and a handful of local beers round out the stop if you’re not in a rush.

Bring a group with mixed diets and everyone eats well here. Someone eating vegetarian gets an actual burger to order, not a plate of fries while everyone else eats meat. Don’t expect a vegan-forward menu or dedicated prep, though. This is a neighborhood burger joint with a few well-built vegetarian options, not a vegetarian restaurant that happens to serve burgers. For a Plano vegetarian who still wants the burger-and-fries experience, Edmond’s delivers one without forcing a compromise onto a side salad.
