Dunkin’: What’s Vegetarian Editorial Review

Dunkin’ is a genuinely easy vegetarian stop, since the whole business runs on bakery items and coffee rather than meat. Most of the menu works without any changes, and the build-your-own coffee bar makes vegan orders simple too.

What to order at Dunkin’

Bagels are the strongest pick: Plain, Sesame, Everything, and Cinnamon Raisin are all vegan as served. Avocado Toast on sourdough is vegan too, and so is a plain English muffin without butter. If you want something hot, the iced coffee, cold brew, and espresso drinks are vegan by default, and lattes or matcha lattes go vegan once you swap in plant milk. Refreshers and the Refresher lemonades are vegan as served too, and hot or iced tea works for anyone skipping coffee entirely.

What to watch out for

Every donut sold in the US contains milk, egg, soy, and wheat, so there’s no vegan donut here even though Dunkin’ sells them in Belgium and Chile. Muffins follow the same rule, and the corn muffin specifically lists egg. Cream cheese spreads and croissants carry dairy or egg too, and the Veggie Egg White Omelet bites are vegetarian only, since they’re built on egg. If you want a vegan baked treat, the seasonal Braided Apple Pie is your best shot, since its ingredient list reads dairy- and egg-free, though it does carry a may-contain-milk cross-contact warning worth noting if you’re strict.
