Arby’s: What’s Vegetarian Editorial Review

Arby’s has nothing for vegetarians on the sandwich side. There’s no veggie burger, no bean patty, and no plant-based protein anywhere on the menu, so a meat-free visit here means building a plate out of fried sides, a salad, sauces, and dessert.

What to order at Arby’s

Curly Fries are the standout, and they’re vegetarian and vegan by recipe, same as the Crinkle Fries, Potato Cakes, and French Toast Sticks. Pair them with Arby’s Sauce or Bronco Berry Sauce, both vegan. A Side Salad without cheese or croutons works too, and the Apple or Cherry Turnover covers dessert. Tree Top Applesauce is a safe, fully vegan pick if you just want something simple.

What to watch out for

Every fried side shares a fryer, so if cross-contact with meat matters to you, factor that in before you order. Mayonnaise, Honey Mustard, and Horsey Sauce all contain egg, and Ranch and Buffalo Sauce contain dairy, so neither works if you’re vegan. Former Arby’s president Rob Lynch publicly said plant-based meat “won’t happen on my watch,” and current leadership hasn’t reversed that stance, so don’t expect a veggie burger to show up here anytime soon. If you want something sandwich-like, your only real move is a do-it-yourself build on a dairy-free bun with vegetables and a vegan sauce, and availability depends on the location.
