Taziki’s: What’s Vegetarian Editorial Review

Taziki’s makes vegetarian eating simple. The dips, the falafel, and most of the salads and bowls skip meat by default, and a good number of the vegan options need no changes at all. This isn’t a chain where you have to hunt for a workaround.

What to order at Taziki’s

Start with the hummus or the Spicy Harissa hummus, both vegan as served with baked pita chips. The Baked Falafel Gyro and the Grilled Veggie Pita are solid mains once you skip the feta and swap the sauce for hummus. The Greek Salad and Mediterranean Salad work too if you ask for no feta, and the Roasted New Potatoes, Basmati Rice, and Quinoa are all vegan sides worth adding. Fresh Cut Fruit, chips, and baked or soft pita round out the vegan side list, though pita recipes can vary by location, so ask if you’re strict about dairy.

What to watch out for at Taziki’s

Feta shows up by default in the Greek Salad, the Mediterranean Salad, the Kýpelos Bowls, and the pasta salad, so ask for it on the side or left off entirely if you’re vegan. The Caesar Salad dressing may contain anchovy, which rules it out for vegetarians too. The Taziki Dip and Whipped Feta are both vegetarian but built on dairy, so they’re off the table if you’re avoiding animal products altogether. Baklava contains honey, which keeps it out of vegan territory even though it looks plant-based.
