We rank vegan and vegetarian creators by influence, not by follower count alone. Follower totals are easy to inflate and they barely move week to week. Real influence is a mix of how many people a creator reaches, how much those people engage, how consistently the creator shows up, and how fast they are growing. Here is exactly how the ranking works, so you can judge it for yourself.
What we measure
Every creator gets a single influence score from 0 to 100. It blends four things, each measured against the rest of the field so the list always spreads cleanly across the full range.
The four parts of the score
- Reach (40%). Total audience across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X, measured on a log scale. The log keeps one giant account from flattening everyone below it, so a 5 million creator and a 500,000 creator sit a fair distance apart instead of worlds apart.
- Engagement (35%). The median engagement rate across recent posts. This is what separates real influence from vanity numbers. A sharp 200,000-follower creator with an active audience can outrank a sleepy account ten times the size.
- Activity (10%). How often and how recently a creator posts. Dormant accounts drift down.
- Momentum (15%). Follower growth over the last 30 and 90 days. This is what drives the daily up-and-down movement on the board.
The math is straightforward: score = 0.40 reach + 0.35 engagement + 0.10 activity + 0.15 momentum. We use the median for engagement, not the average, so one viral post does not distort a creator’s standing. Accounts with huge follower counts but dead comment sections score low on engagement by design.
Who qualifies
- Their main content is vegan or vegetarian food, cooking, nutrition, or advocacy. Each creator is tagged so you can tell vegan from vegetarian.
- Recipe creators, plant-based dietitians, chefs, and athletes all count. Restaurant business accounts do not, those live in our restaurant directory.
- Active within the last 90 days. We use public profiles and public numbers only.
How often it updates
Once the live pipeline is running, follower numbers refresh daily and engagement refreshes weekly. Rank movement and trend lines build from those daily snapshots. During this launch preview the board shows a first reach-based snapshot while the daily tracking comes online.
Where the numbers come from
We pull public follower and engagement data from each platform on a schedule. Numbers are snapshots and rounded, so treat them as close estimates rather than to-the-digit counts. We never publish private data, and we do not sell placement on this list. A spot is earned by the score, full stop.
Corrections and removals
If a number looks wrong, a creator has changed their focus, or someone wants off the list, tell us and we will fix it or remove them. Accuracy matters more to us than a longer list.
