Uno Pizzeria & Grill built its name on Chicago deep dish loaded with cheese, and its menu still leans hard on meat overall. But it also prints two fully vegan pizzas and a Beyond Burger right on the regular menu, which is a level of clarity vegetarians rarely get from a legacy chain.

What to order at Uno Pizzeria & Grill

Three of the eight classic deep dish pizzas skip meat entirely: Cheese & Tomato, Four Cheese & Pesto, and the Farmer’s Market with onions, spinach, tomatoes, and eggplant. If you’re avoiding dairy too, order the Vegan Cheese Pizza or Vegan Garden Pizza, both deep dish and both fully vegan, or the Vegan Cheeseburger Deep Dish. The Classic Beyond Burger sits right on the regular menu next to the beef patties, and several thin crust options, including the Veggie Extravaganza and Margherita, work as vegetarian too.

What to watch out for

Most of the menu still isn’t vegetarian. The Numero Uno, Chicago Meat Market, Chicago Classic, and Steak & Cheese deep dish pizzas, along with the Windy City Works and BBQ Chicken thin crusts, all carry meat with no vegetarian version. The regular vegetarian deep dish and thin crust pizzas still contain dairy, so they’re not vegan unless you specifically order one of the vegan-labeled pies. Confirm the bun and toppings on the Beyond Burger too, since Uno doesn’t guarantee those are vegan by default.
